Tipping the Scales featuring Zodiac Cartel aka EliteForce OCT 8th

—Friday October 8th—
……The Protege & in A home Entertainment PRESENT:
Zodiac Cartel aka Elite Force
Our ethos is simple. – ‘Jackin’ House Music With A Techno Soul’.
It was early 2007 when the mysterious Zodiac Cartel burst onto the
scene, with the shredding ‘Devil’s Music’ on Lot49, and the massive
selling remix of Elite Force’s ‘Used & Abused’ on U&A Recordings. Both
tracks sold in large quantities and immediately installed the Cartel as
one of the ‘go-to’ producers in the ‘warehouse’ field, with supporters
such as Moby, James Zabiela, Crookers, Kissy Sellout & Sasha amongst
the many A-listers supporting his prodigious career to date.
“Zodiac Cartel is so far ahead of most of the other producers
pushing the warehouse sound it’s almost embarrasing!”
[iDJ magazine]
The Cartel has owned 2009 with a serious spell of studio time, during
which he secured three further single releases, with the aggro-latinostreet-
sounds of summer-anthem, ‘We Don’t Play That’, the peaktime
raveathon, ‘Beyond The Dancefloor’ (Lee Mortimer’s ‘Wearhouse Music’)
and finishing up the year with ‘Stay On Top’ (U&A December 2009),
surely set to become the largest tune yet from ZC.
A broad & diverse remix portfolio have included massive remakes for
Franz Ferdinand, Santogold, Fukkk Off, DJ Dan & Lee Mortimer. Whilst
he is best known for the floor-filling & anthemic side of things, he’s also
displayed greater range than most in taking it deep & druggy (remixes
such as Butter Party – Wriggle (Dark & Deep Mix), Harvey Mackay –
Reflex) and wonky (Calvertron – Doggy Style / Sawtooth Suckas –
Ordinary Girl). 2010 will see fresh reworks for the likes of Hatiras,
Circuit Freq, Lee Coombs & Tai which will only consolidate his position as
one of the most exciting electronic producers of the ‘warehouse’ sound
today.
“The Cartel prove once again that they maintain a massive, yet
subtle dominance and freshness that is very much lacking within
the scene”
[inthemix magazine]
World domination is just around the corner!

Age of Aquarius 3 feat. ILL GATES (TO) and CHRIS ORGANIX (VAN) – Feb 5th, 2010
The Protege proudly presents:
AGE OF AQUARIUS 3 feat:
ILL GATES (Toronto)
http://www.thephatconductor.com
http://www.myspace.com/thephatconductor
ill.gates is a well-known producer from Toronto Canada. His previous productions as ‘The Phat Conductor’ and co-productions with Robb G have made waves in the Electro House and Breakbeat genres, as has his work with Bassnectar in the growing crunky midtempo breaks genres.
Past production work includes remixing the likes of DJ Dan, Myagi and Si Begg and has led to top selling tracks on Beatport and also a mention in URB as one of their ‘next 100′ top artists. His versatility is evident in his broad array of collaborations with reknowned producers like Robb G, Bassnectar, Meesha, Little John, Friction, Malaya, Stephane Vera and Canadian Hip Hop vocalist Masia One.
‘Autopirate’, covers a broad range of genres and confirms ‘ill.gates’ production values.
Ill Gates finds it more than a little bit odd writing about himself in the third person, especially in light of the fact that he is actually an apricot named Walrus.
While incarnate in this dimension Walrus enjoys creating music, art, and video mashups as well as teaching others all about how much fun it is. Walrus has a band called the Department of Motion too. They definitely don’t suck if you ask me, but I suspect that my opinion on Walrus could be a little biased.
When Walrus isn’t puttering around the studio he goes on the road and bosses some noisy machines around. Mostly it’s record players, but some of the machines make pictures on the wall and some of the machines are even imaginary! Walrus can’t just imagine the sounds right into your head yet though, so he tells a computer how to imagine them for him, it’s almost as good. You should try it sometime.
Walrus told me that he wanted to thank everyone for listening to his music and coming out to his shows. Because of all of you guys, Walrus doesn’t have to get a real job and that’s about as fun as it gets if you ask Walrus.
