……The Protege & in A home Entertainment PRESENT:

Zodiac Cartel aka Elite Force

Our ethos is simple. – ‘Jackin’ House Music With A Techno Soul’.
It was early 2007 when the mysterious Zodiac Cartel burst onto the
scene, with the shredding ‘Devil’s Music’ on Lot49, and the massive
selling remix of Elite Force’s ‘Used & Abused’ on U&A Recordings. Both
tracks sold in large quantities and immediately installed the Cartel as
one of the ‘go-to’ producers in the ‘warehouse’ field, with supporters
such as Moby, James Zabiela, Crookers, Kissy Sellout & Sasha amongst
the many A-listers supporting his prodigious career to date.
“Zodiac Cartel is so far ahead of most of the other producers
pushing the warehouse sound it’s almost embarrasing!”
[iDJ magazine]
The Cartel has owned 2009 with a serious spell of studio time, during
which he secured three further single releases, with the aggro-latinostreet-
sounds of summer-anthem, ‘We Don’t Play That’, the peaktime
raveathon, ‘Beyond The Dancefloor’ (Lee Mortimer’s ‘Wearhouse Music’)
and finishing up the year with ‘Stay On Top’ (U&A December 2009),
surely set to become the largest tune yet from ZC.
A broad & diverse remix portfolio have included massive remakes for
Franz Ferdinand, Santogold, Fukkk Off, DJ Dan & Lee Mortimer. Whilst
he is best known for the floor-filling & anthemic side of things, he’s also
displayed greater range than most in taking it deep & druggy (remixes
such as Butter Party – Wriggle (Dark & Deep Mix), Harvey Mackay –
Reflex) and wonky (Calvertron – Doggy Style / Sawtooth Suckas –
Ordinary Girl). 2010 will see fresh reworks for the likes of Hatiras,
Circuit Freq, Lee Coombs & Tai which will only consolidate his position as
one of the most exciting electronic producers of the ‘warehouse’ sound
today.
“The Cartel prove once again that they maintain a massive, yet
subtle dominance and freshness that is very much lacking within
the scene”
[inthemix magazine]
World domination is just around the corner!

About NAPT – Double award winners 2010

BIOGRAPHY
NAPT, aka Ashley Pope and Tomek Naden, are a multi-award winning British electronic dance music production and DJ duo whose popularity has rocketed in the last 2 years. Their self coined N-Funk sound is a heady concoction of breakbeat, electro and house spawned from the UK underground and informed by a keen ear for the tasteful end of the commercial spectrum.
NAPT’s first releases were remixes for major label artists Lumidee and Jon Cutler. NAPT then went on to release a slew of chart topping and critically acclaimed tracks on a host of labels including the award winning Funkatech Records, Sony Records, Fingerlickin Records and more, which have been consistently played on Radio 1, Kiss FM, Triple J etc and featured in major online and offline press including DJ Mag, iDJ, Mixmag, inthemix etc; from the top selling and award winning singles “Gotta Have More Cowbell” and “Make My Day” which have to date racked up over 15,000 sales, to remixes and collaborations with electro-pop act Kish Mauve (Kylie Minogue fame), Mercury Prize nominee MJ Cole, Dubstep luminary G-Double from Anti-Social crew, British drum and bass MC Skibadee, UK soul legend Mica Paris and rising UK Urban star Ashley “Bashy” Thomas.
In 2009 NAPT picked up a highly esteemed award from Beatport.com for their remix of Slyde’s “Frequency,” followed by wins for Best Producer, Best Track and Best Remix at Breakspoll. In 2010 they repeated their wins for Best Producer and Best Track at Breakspoll – the first time in the history of the awards that the Best Producer and Best Track categories had been won by the same artist in successive years.
As DJ’s NAPT have headlined and performed shows all over the world, from Fabric in London, Glastonbury Festival Somerset to Ambar in Perth the N-Funk continuously infiltrates many a dance floor. NAPT also pioneered the online mix tape with 3 highly successful mix series to date, the latest “Live In The Mix” gaining well over 40,000 downloads.
Successfully traversing a multitude of genres the NAPT N-Funk sound refuses to be boxed in with their innovative, mutated, high sheen productions rocking the most discerning of dance floors.
The future seems ever bright for the new heroes of the dance.

This philharmonic technotronic mistress has been putting love into the decks and the underground community since 05. She began by seeding her roots deep into Minimal and branching outwards to Techno, house, and more. This ridonkulous entourage entices her dance floor to sink their teeth into the musical steak before them.. Thus this scorpion’s love of intricate percussion, experimental, funk and anything dirty make her a versatile flavor to be reckoned with. Having played at such festivals as Motion Notion, North Country Fair and Astral Harvest, this girl has a keen passion for record digging so fine, its hard to match anyone to her style. Mangladesh will make you feel the rhythmic vibrations of the earth and leave you craving for more dirty bass in your face! Mmmmm..yummy!

Just mix a dose of Funk, bass, a touch of world music and a heaping tablespoon of scratch tactics…. Beat Burglar smoothie! After a busy summer playing such Festivals as North Country Fair, Astral Harvest and Shambhala Music Festival, He is inspired more than ever to lay it down for the city he calls home.

VibeSquaD has the look and feel of a regular humanoid DJ / producer, but as the Crunkadelic Bass Traveler he tours the solar system bumpin’ his signature sound to all the deep space inhabitants. His spaceship leaks beats to the outer edges of the galaxy, leaving a blast of subterranean ill bass in his wake. Creatures are drawn to these sounds, regularly converging in large groups to observe and move to his music.

Taking cues from classic electronic acts like Kraftwerk, The Art of Noise, and Front 242, VibeSquaD incorporates the reliable sounds of Chicago, Detroit, Miami, and the UK, informs it with his background in classic rock, psychedelic jam, and diverse jazz roots, then zaps it all with neon lasers.

The sounds he produces transmit a positivity capable of inducing anything from temporary stress relief to outright elation. Tracks from his album Joyful Noise cause a type of heightened euphoria in fans, leading them to shake and bounce uncontrollably and convince their robot and alien friends to voyage thousands of light years just to witness his massive dance parties.

VibeSquaD’s launch pad is in Denver, Colorado (North America), but he travels all over the planet spreading bouncy beats, elastic synth lines, glitched-out samples and wobbly bass to gyrating, electrified masses.

LONG WALK SHORT DOCK – Vancouver – LIVE ELECTRO!

http://www.longwalkshortdock.com

A veteran of sound design and electronic music production for well over a decade, Dave King (Longwalkshortdock)’s music has stepped into a genre of its own. Heavily influnced by early 80s video game music and vintage analog synthesis, he stacks layers of melody in his tracks until they implode and reform. Heavy drums and aggresive synths join forces with rolling grooves and melodic lead lines to create a wide variety of slamming dance floor originals. Not limited to dance music, his music crosses into many territories. His vast catalogue of hundreds of songs dives into ambient, IDM, electro, acid, house, big beat, indie rock, drones, electronica and down tempo. Dave holds two degrees from the Art Institute of Burnaby for Music Recording and Production. Playing songs and remixes he wrote and produced, longwalkshortdock performs live PA with live vocals, synthesizers, drum machines, guitar, effects, toys, computers and even some of his own strobes and lighting. Know for his increadably “enthusiastic” performances, longwalkshortdock creates an undeniable stage presence and visceral experience at a show. Longwalkshortdock has performed live with the likes of Phil Western (Download, Skinny Puppy, Kone) and opened for talented artists like, MSTRKRFT, Junkie XL, Vibesquad, Alex Patterson (The Orb), Mimosa, Adam Freeland, Shout out out out out and Matt the Alien. In addition, LWSD’s growing reputation has earned him frequent sell-out shows in Victoria, Vancouver, Courtenay and elsewhere in the BC lower mainland. Groundbreaking performances at last years Soundwave and Shambhala music festivals have started to move LWSD’s career quickly into high-gear. His side project, “Containment Unit” has a debut release out on “Live to Tape” recordings and their remix of Lazy Riches “Freight Train” was the number one download on play-digital for a week earlier this year. Longwalkshortdocks debut self-released record, “Casual Tea” is out now and he would be happy to deliver one to you personally. Did you know they found him in a cave on the moon?

Thats what i heard…

This provocative spinstress of raynebow frequencys is sure to leave you wanting more. For diversity is the golden ticket that makes it difficult to place a needle on the unique sound of PaperKrayne.

ill.gates is a well-known producer from Toronto Canada. His previous productions as ‘The Phat Conductor’ and co-productions with Robb G have made waves in the Electro House and Breakbeat genres, as has his work with Bassnectar in the growing crunky midtempo breaks genres.

Past production work includes remixing the likes of DJ Dan, Myagi and Si Begg and has led to top selling tracks on Beatport and also a mention in URB as one of their ‘next 100′ top artists. His versatility is evident in his broad array of collaborations with reknowned producers like Robb G, Bassnectar, Meesha, Little John, Friction, Malaya, Stephane Vera and Canadian Hip Hop vocalist Masia One.
‘Autopirate’, covers a broad range of genres and confirms ‘ill.gates’ production values.

Ill Gates finds it more than a little bit odd writing about himself in the third person, especially in light of the fact that he is actually an apricot named Walrus.

While incarnate in this dimension Walrus enjoys creating music, art, and video mashups as well as teaching others all about how much fun it is. Walrus has a band called the Department of Motion too. They definitely don’t suck if you ask me, but I suspect that my opinion on Walrus could be a little biased.

When Walrus isn’t puttering around the studio he goes on the road and bosses some noisy machines around. Mostly it’s record players, but some of the machines make pictures on the wall and some of the machines are even imaginary! Walrus can’t just imagine the sounds right into your head yet though, so he tells a computer how to imagine them for him, it’s almost as good. You should try it sometime.

Walrus told me that he wanted to thank everyone for listening to his music and coming out to his shows. Because of all of you guys, Walrus doesn’t have to get a real job and that’s about as fun as it gets if you ask Walrus.
